Historical Courts address long-standing grievances by combining the goals of truth and reconciliation reports, which document injustices to rebuild societies, and tribunals, which utilize the courtroom as the site of justice.  Historical Courts allow for the public acknowledgement of historical counter-narratives by performing legality, yet the quasi-legal nature of these events expose more social fissures than they adjudicate and limit the radical potential of narratives to foster justice.
