Experimental Poster Session, Part 1

AHA Session 164
Saturday, January 7, 2012: 11:30 AM-2:00 PM
Sheraton Ballroom II (Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers)
This poster session provides a venue for the newest developing historical research. Though relatively new to the humanities, poster sessions have long been utilized at professional meetings in scientific fields. On sessions with several panel participants, audience interaction is limited to brief discussion periods—usually only a few people are able to ask questions and each presenter may not have time to discuss their research fully. The poster session addresses this common problem, allowing for considered dialogue and engaging interaction. The 2012 Program Committee encourages all meeting attendees to visit the posters on display. The following presenters will be available to discuss their posters between 11:30 A.M. and 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 7:
Papers:
Community and Continuity: Bell County, Texas, African American Oral History Project
Lisa Miles Bunkowski, Texas A&M University-Central Texas; Alexandra Nicole Rains, Texas A&M University
Dangerous Liaisons? Borderless Networks of Secrecy and Trust—Fin de Siècle Anarchism
Candace Falk, Emma Goldman Papers, University of California, Berkeley
Notes on the Future of Virginia: An Experiment in Visualized Discourse Analysis
Scot A. French, University of Central Florida; Bill Ferster, University of Virginia
Booze Districts: The Geography of Illegal Alcohol in Chicago
Brian D. Jolet, Loyola University Chicago
