This paper will discuss the writings of Camilo Torres, a legendary Colombian ex-seminary priest who became a guerrilla fighter. In particular, this presentation will focus on how this ex-priest re-envisioned community and solidarity in Colombia of the 1960s. In doing so, he challenged traditional notions of charity and of religious solidarity, which ultimately led him to make the decision to join the Colombian insurgency.
