Fiscal and Financial Preconditions for the Formation of States in the East and the West

I propose to investigate the political and structural conditions which favoured an earlier transition to Weberian states with capacities to supply public goods necessary for transitions to industrial market economies in Western Europe, with reference to the Ming-Qing, Mughal and Ottoman empires in the east.
