James Retallack will discuss his editorship of vol. 4 of the GHDI project, entitled: Forging an Empire: Bismarckian Germany, 1866-1890. ---------

Each of the editors will reflect on three issues they faced in common:

1) how and why they selected certain documents and images over others;

2) whether they tried to “tell a story” as they shaped their volume; and

3) how they have used this resource in their own teaching.
